We serve over 100 children during the year in Central Florida, and we are always preparing for any challenge. We provide families a stay at Ronald McDonald House, or any similiar facility close to the treatment center where a child is hospitalized. Our promise is that immediate family members who need to be close are provided for. We also provide monetary assistance to families facing financial struggles.
A Volusia county mother, saw that her daughter couldn’t walk in a straight line when she was only 6 years old. She took her to a pediatrician. She wasn’t getting any better and was taken to another doctor who diagnosed a stage-four brain tumor. She needed both chemotherapy and radiation. Don came to see her that day and following up with a check to help with rent, gas cards, overnight accommodations at Ronald McDonald house, gifts and moral support.
A young boy's story began with pain in his hands and discomfort in his eyes. The 5 year old was so tired he came home from school exhausted. Emergency visits to the hospital did not stop the disease. He developed a fever and was anemic. He was finally diagnosed with leukemia in his spine. The boy's mother met Don Hill in the waiting area at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She didn’t know what an Angel he was.
